LOVE STRUCK DOWN

The Hole frontwoman is forced to abandon John Carpenter's latest project 'Ghosts Of Mars'...

Hole vocalist Courtney Love abandoned a proposed film role because of a “serious” injury to her foot.

Love intended to play the role of Melanie, an intergalactic police officer in John Carpenter‘s film ‘Ghosts Of Mars’ – a sci-fi set 175 years in the future. The film is also set to star rapper Ice Cube, Jason Statham and Pam Grier.

Now, a brief statement posted on Hole‘s official website, [url=]www.holemusic.com, says: “While training for her role in John Carpenter‘s ‘Ghosts of Mars’, Courtney sustained a serious foot/ankle injury running that has, unfortunately, forced her to abandon the project.”

According to reports on [url=]www.mtv.com, producers are now seeking a replacement for the departed Love, although it is unlikely that anyone will be found before shooting commences shooting on August 8.

As previously reported on nme.com, Hole plan to enter the studio in October to work on the follow-up to ‘Celebrity Skin’. It is unclear whether the changes to her schedule will affect the recording of the new album.
