London rapper "has an incredible future", Craig says
The track originally appeared as the opening track for David’s seventh album ‘The Time Is Now’, which came out back in January.
In a three-star review, NME‘s Leonie Cooper wrote of the record: “Generally, David’s attempt at a contemporary chart megamix works. Sure, he’s not going to win any awards for originality, but when it comes to making music that simply makes you smile, Craig David is still the king.”
The video sees the pair exchange verses against a sleek backdrop, interspersed by shots of a dance troupe. At one point, London rapper Bane appears to pay tribute to David’s iconic ‘Born To Do It’ album cover.
Craig says of the clip: “So happy to have Bane jump on this tune. Magic is one of my favourite records on ‘The Time Is Now’ and to have someone as big in the scene as Bane be on the record is amazing. He has an incredible future so it’s great to be collaborating”.
Back in March, Craig David was joined onstage in Los Angeles by Justin Bieber.
Speaking to the crowd at LA’s Roxy Theatre, Bieber gushed about the support David had offered him from the start of his career.
“So this guy right here supported me from day one, came to my shows”, Bieber told the Los Angeles crowd.
“I’ve got so much love for him. He’s an amazing guy, but he’s an incredible artist and I’m just glad to be here. I had so much fun.”
