Liam Gallagher ‘livid’ with Robbie Williams – Brit Awards Daily Gossip special

Cheryl ditches wedding ring, Jay-Z eats Nando's – your music gossip stop

Welcome to the Daily Gossip: your daily stop-off to find out who in the world of music has been up to what. Today’s gossip is a post-Brit Awards 2010 special, featuring all the best backstage rumours and truths from the night.

Today’s top gossip:

Liam Gallagher was reportedly “livid” after seeing Robbie Williams chatting to his wife Nicole Appleton backstage at the Brit Awards last night (February 16). Williams and Appleton used to date before she met Gallagher, and the former Oasis frontman – who snubbed brother Noel in his acceptance speech at the awards – is seemingly still riled at the sight of them chatting. According to a source, the singer was so upset he started “pacing around” after hearing about the meeting (Daily Mirror).

From the papers:

Cheryl Cole wasn’t wearing her wedding ring at the awards, possibly in relation to the tabloid stories regarding hubby Ashley Cole‘s alleged affairs (The Sun).

In other Cheryl Cole news, Brits organisers reportedly told all staff not to talk or even look at her prior to her performance, again because of the newspaper rumours regarding her marriage (Daily Record).

Sam Fox slipped up in her introduction for ‘The Brits Hits 30’ award, saying the gong was for the most “rememberable” performance in Brits history. Ironically, Fox had earlier said she definitely wouldn’t fluff her lines, as she famously did when presenting the ceremony in 1989 (various).

Jay-Z ate Nando’s before the event (Daily Mirror).

Speaking on the Brits red carpet, JLSOritse Williams said he’s not bothered that the band have been nominated in the Worst Band category at next Wednesday’s (February 24) Shockwaves NME Awards. “I’ve been reading NME since I was a kid,” he explained, adding that he thinks of it as an “honour” to be nominated for anything – good or bad (Daily Record).
