Welcome to the Daily Gossip: your daily stop-off to find out who in the world of music has been up to what.
Today’s top gossip:
Lady Gaga returned to her favourite London boozer The Raven last night (November 1). Known for blending in seamlessly and enjoying the quiet life, she left staff and fellow boozers utterly stunned by, erm, by making a complete show of herself. After someone rushed out to get a guitar, she insisted on belting out The Rolling Stones‘ ‘Gimme Shelter’ as a present for a couple of newlyweds she had got talking to in the bar. Despite her overfriendlyness, she didn’t let her new best mates record it for posterity (The Sun).
From the papers:
Despite the band themselves saying they’re not going to play next year’s festival, one tab is claiming Take That are “very close” to signing a deal which will see them play next year’s Glastonbury (Daily Star).
Lily Allen received Twitter support following her miscarriage from Emma Bunton, Mylene Klass and Denise Van Outen (various).
Remember where you heard it first (last year actually when he said the new Gorillaz album would take on the the TV show), Damon Albarn says he doesn’t like X Factor. Comparing the likes of JLS and Alexandra Burke to farmyard animals, he said “A cow is definitely a more beautiful thing before it hits the hamburger factory” (The Sun).
Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden isn’t short of accolades, and now he’s got another to smile about. He’s been shortlisted in the Face Of Travel 2010 awards, due to his contribution to the travel and tourism industry as a pilot (Blabbermouth).
Prince is rumoured to be performing on the X Factor‘s grand final (various).
