Adele quits smoking, Win loves Mumford & Sons - your music gossip stop
Welcome to the Daily Gossip: your daily stop-off to find out what the stars of the music world have been up to in the tabloids and beyond, with the help of plenty of ‘anonymous sources’.
Today’s top gossip:
That lad Bruno Mars seems to be doing quite well recently, on Sunday he topped both the album and singles chart and he attracted a host of celebrities to his album launch party at London’s Café De Paris.
So popular was Mars, in fact, that we read that Manchester City midfielder Patrick Vieira, Sugababes‘ Amelle Berrabah and members of The Wanted were all turned away from Mars‘ table when they wanted to meet him. To be fair, the ‘Grenade’ singer was pretty busy, as he reportedly managed to run up a £12,000 bar tab (The Sun).
From the papers and beyond:
Adele has made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve her voice, we read – she’s ditched the fags. The singer, whose second album ‘21’ has just been released, has been suffering from laryngitis and said she felt like she “had a chalkboard around her neck”. She added that it wasn’t just cigarettes that she’s had to give up. “It’s not just the fags – I’ve had to give up milk, tomatoes, sweets and sucking mints,” she said. That’s commitment (Daily Star).
Arcade Fire’s Win Butler is apparently delighted that Mumford and Sons are supporting his band for their Hyde Park show next June. “We always pick our supports and it was perfect timing when we met Mumford and Sons in London,” he said (The Sun).
Duran Duran announced a UK arena tour yesterday (January 25) and are expected to be joined by some special guests for the shows, we read. Mark Ronson, Kelis, Scissor Sisters‘ Ana Matronic and ITV newsreader Nina Hossain will allegedly all help out the ’80s pop stars. Now that’s a line-up (Daily Star)
