SuBo's moonwalk, Jacko kids at Grammys?, Darkness to reform? – your music gossip stop
Welcome to the Daily Gossip: your daily stop-off to find out who in the world of music has been up to what.
Today’s top gossip:
Liam Gallagher has laid into Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson for looking like a “dustbin man” and being like Scottish TV detective Taggart. The former Oasis singer, who is a staunch Manchester City fan, was speaking ahead of last night’s (January 27) Carling Cup match between the two teams, which he predicted would see City win 2–0. Referring to Manchester City‘s manager Roberto Mancini (who himself praised Oasis earlier this week), Gallagher said: “Mancini looks good but then, all Italians are cool. He’s certainly cooler than that Taggart [Ferguson] from across the road – he’s a top manager and all that but he looks like a dustbin man.” The singer also admitted that although he’s “buzzing off” City striker Carlos Tevez‘s form at present, “it would be a challenge” to make him look good in Pretty Green clothing. Sadly for Gallagher Manchester City lost 3-1 (4-3 on aggregate) in the match last night, sending them crashing out of the cup (Football365).
From the papers:
Susan Boyle did a moonwalk while recording her part for Simon Cowell‘s Haiti charity single (various).
The Darkness‘ Justin and Dan Hawkins have reportedly put aside their differences and are demoing new material in Lowestoft with a view to reforming the band. Singer Justin originally quit in 2006 (The Sun).
