Today’s top gossip:

Kaiser Chiefs guitarist Andrew “Whitey” White has signed up to take part in a world record attempt for the world’s longest scooter rally. The star is set to ride the length of Hull‘s Humber Bridge on August 14 with hundreds of other participants from the Yorkshire Scooter Alliance, which he is a member of. If more than 548 riders take part then they will break the world record. Jake Parker, a spokesperson for Grimsby And Cleethorpes Scooter Scene, who organised the event, said: “To have Andrew White riding his scooter over the Humber Bridge and camping here will be amazing. We were absolutely stunned when we found out he was coming. I am a bit of a fan of the Kaiser Chiefs” (This Is Grimbsy).

From the papers:

Girls Aloud have reportedly ditched Nadine Coyle from their future recording plans. The remaining members have apparently decided to regroup without her because they collectively feel they have all grown apart from her. “It’s been a painful decision for Sarah [Harding], Nicola [Roberts], Kimberley [Walsh] and Cheryl [Cole] but they have decided that the future of Girls Aloud lies without Nadine,” a source said (The Sun).

Meanwhile, Cheryl Cole has made her first public appearance since being struck down with malaria last month. The singer was seen popping out of her Surrey home to a Starbucks coffee shop (Various).

Muse frontman Matt Bellamy and actress Kate Hudson have reportedly been house hunting in New York. “Kate‘s had a place in the city for five years but she wants somewhere bigger, so Matt‘s suggested pooling their resources,” a source said. “Kate wants a studio for Matt and playroom for her son, Ryder” (The Sun).

Klaxons claim they are putting on a better show now that they have decided to perform sober. “We’re going onstage sober and playing our songs to their best, whereas before we were just a train wreck,” said bassist and singer Jamie Reynolds. (The Daily Record).
