Adam Ant shocked an audience of 200 fans and children at a charity gig in a Portsmouth church hall by swearing at them. After performing a cover of The Rolling Stones‘Sympathy For The Devil’, the singer is alleged to have told fans: “I’m a punk rocker. I don’t do Christian. You can fuck off to the church”. After organisers pulled the plug, Ant admitted: “The show was shit. I wasn’t told it was in a church hall” (The Sun).
