Dirk Kuyt credits Killers and Kings Of Leon for Liverpool’s form – Daily Gossip

Magnetic Man buying football club, Rihanna rakes it in - your music gossip stop

Welcome to the Daily Gossip: your daily stop-off to find out what the stars of the music world have been up to in the tabloids and beyond, with the help of plenty of “anonymous sources”.

Today’s top gossip:

Liverpool FC‘s Dirk Kuyt has put his team’s return to form down to his choice of music in the dressing room before games, we read.

But rather than most football players’ aural diet of R&B and hip-hop, the attacking midfielder said he was blasting out slightly more guitar-based tunes in the dressing room to inspire confidence.

“Ever since I’ve plugged my iPod into our music system and play the stuff I’ve collected at home for our games, we’ve not lost a game,” he said. “Kings Of Leon, The Killers and Amy Winehouse. That sort of stuff.” He probably skips ‘Love Is A Losing Game’, though… (Daily Mirror)

From the papers and beyond:

In other football/music crossover news, Magnetic Man are supposedly in talks to become owners of their own football club. The trio, who wrapped up their stint on the Shockwaves NME Awards tour on Saturday (February 19), made the announcement on Soccer AM that they are looking to buy Farleigh Rovers, their local team. Artwork even added that they “could have Farleigh in the Premier League in a few years”.

Rihanna enjoyed a bumper pay day on Saturday (February 19), we read, picking up £300,000 for a gig at a Florida gala. This was an especially good rate considering she only played for an hour (The Sun).

First Lady Gaga was accused of ripping off Madonna on her new single and now Kylie Minogue is claiming she’s ahead of her, according to the red-tops. She supposedly reckons she inspired the singer’s sense of style. “I set the benchmark for Gaga,” Minogue was quoted as saying (Daily Mirror).

Cee Lo Green got noticed at an NBA game this weekend. The singer was taking in the NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles when he was spotted by the Chicago Bulls mascot, who dragged him on his feet and donned him in the mascot hat (The Sun).

Motley Crue singer Vince Neil is earning his keep while he serves a two-week jail sentence. The singer apparently has two jobs in the slammer (Blabbermouth.net).

Finally, Cheryl Cole has allegedly cancelled her plans to release her duet with Dizzee Rascal. The singer wants to concentrate on cracking America instead (Daily Star).
