Ian Brown, Goldie Lookin' Chain, Duffy, Young Knives - your music gossip stop
Welcome to the Daily Gossip: your daily stop-off to find out who in the world of music has been up to what.
Today it’s a V Festival special, with all that that went on backstage at the Chelmsford and Staffordshire bash.
From the papers and spotted by team NME:
Royworld pretended that they were Kings Of Leon in order to get a backstage buggy to travel around in. They failed (Daily Star).
Goldie Lookin Chain aren’t impressed by Duffy. “She’s made a lot of money out of a song about a tube station [‘Warwick Avenue’],” said Dwain Xain Zedon. “We’re thinking of writing a song called ‘Cockfosters’” (Daily Star).
Meanwhile GLC rapper Maggot enjoyed a free pie and a pint in the Virgin Radio VIP area.
Ian Brown denied (again) that a Stone Roses reunion is on the cards. “Sorry, but the lads will never tour again,” he said (The Sun).
Matt Horne joked that he was the only famous person in the aforementioned Virgin Radio enclosure.
Alex Turner‘s girlfriend, Alexa Chung, was seen backstage during Stereophonics‘ set, along with Coleen Rooney (Daily Mirror).
DJ troupe We Are (Not) Sex People nearly ran over Jaime Winstone and Alfie Allen after hot-wiring a buggy backstage (Daily Star).
The aforementioned Duffy took her new boyfriend to V with her. She larked about backstage wearing a horse mask (The Sun and Daily Star).
The Dodgems were congratulated on their set by Will Young (Daily Star).
