Welcome to the Daily Gossip: your daily stop-off to find out who in the world of music has been up to what.

Today’s top gossip:

50 Cent has reportedly landed a one-off cameo in EastEnders. The rapper is apparently a huge fan of the show thanks to Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand, who introduced him to the soap. “I really wanted Peggy [Mitchell] to throw me out of her pub, but I didn’t get it organised quick enough and it’s too late now,” he joked after Barbara Windsor‘s recent exit from the show.” Robbie Williams previously appeared in the series back in 1995 (Daily Mirror).

From the papers:

Noel Gallagher has reportedly labelled footballers geeks. “Generally speaking football players are squares,” the ex-Oasis guitarist said (Daily Star).

Lady Gaga has been attacked by animal rights protesters for wearing a dress fashioned from raw meat at the MTV VMA Awards. The singer, who recently wore a similar outfit on the Japanese cover of Vogue Homme, was criticised by the Vegetarian Society as she picked up eight gongs at the ceremony. “It’s not nice to see another use for dead animals,” said spokeswoman Liz O’Neill. “We see it as another animal that has suffered.” However Gaga has insisted that she wore the dress to protest the US military’s ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ policy, which limits gay rights in the services (Various).

Robbie Williams has apparently caused controversy after popping a mystery pill at the Help For Heroes concert on Sunday (September 12). The singer was apparently spotted taking a blister pack out of his pocket in between songs before slipping a pill in his mouth. Fans took to Twitter to air their concerns, with one fan writing: “Why the hell did Robbie Williams just pop a pill while onstage and they broadcast it?” But a spokesman for the singer said that he simply took a throat sweet to ease his voice (Daily Star).

Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle has reportedly buried the hatchet with Cheryl Cole. The 25-year-old is believed to have called her bandmate to clear the air after a series of alleged snubs. “Nadine desperately wants to be friends with all of her Girls Aloud bandmates, despite whatever’s happened in the past and things that have been said,” a friend said (Daily Star).
