Rio reviews Prince, Leona's ex wants a pay-off, Jay-Z's big tip - your music gossip stop

Welcome to the Daily Gossip: your daily stop-off to find out who in the world of music has been up to what.

Today’s top gossip:

Snoop Dogg is trying to associate himself with two Manchester legends. Rather than Morrissey and Oasis, the rapper has expressed his desire to link up with Manchester United and Coronation Street. Snoop achieved the first part by hanging out with injured defender Rio Ferdinand at Ordsall Youth Centre in the city, and even showed off his football skills. He then turned his attentions to the Rovers Return. “I had my agent reach out to them to see if they could try to get me on and they said they were interested,” Snoop Dogg explained of his connection with the soap. “So hopefully it might happen. It would be perfect for me to be on the show. Eleven years ago one of my friends turned me onto it. I love the whole dynamic, the way it’s put together. It’s my world” (Daily Star).

From the papers:

Rio Ferdinand – he’s been busy – has reviewed Prince‘s new album ’20Ten’ for The Mirror, the paper that is giving away the CD for free tomorrow (July 10). Unsurprisingly he’s a fan of the paper-Prince collaboration, suggesting “It’s gonna be my album of the summer.” Then again, it hasn’t exactly been a classic summer for the English footballer, has it? (The Mirror).

Leona Lewis‘ ex-boyfriend apparently wants £1.5m pay-off for contributing to her success – including filling out her X Factor application form – following their split (The Sun).

Model Jordan has appealed to fans to buy her solo single ‘Free To Love Again’ in a video clip. The former Eurovision wannabe tells fans: “I hope you enjoy it as much as me. Please go and download it. It’s summer and let’s all party, woo-hoo” (Daily Star).

Jay-Z tipped £100 at Scott’s seafood restaurant in London‘s West End (The Mirror).

Jools Holland is worried no one will show up at his next gig in Rotterdam because it clashes with the World Cup Final on Sunday (July 11) (Daily Star).
