The Daily Ligger: Kate Nash gives us fashion tips

Your 10:30am gossip stop: The Wombats are losers...

Welcome to the 10:30 Ligger, your morning stop off to find out who in the world of indie and rock has been spotted out and about, and what they’ve been doing.

Following their gig last night (October 18) in London, The Cribs’ afterparty saw Franz Ferdinand, Nick Hodgson from Kaiser Chiefs and Joe Lean all hanging out.

No surprise to see Kate Nash was there too.

Ryan Jarman‘s young lady was was “dancing manically” during the show and, when ‘Men’s Needs’ came on, she hurled herself into the moshpit and emerged ten minutes later, out of breath.

Nash was swishing her long skirt around and told our NME man that he should wear a skirt as they are “much better for dancing in”.

At at East London‘s The Roost, Alexa Chung, Alex Turner and Matt Helders, Johnny Borrell, Noel Fielding and ex-Towers Of London‘s The Rev watched Dizzee Rascal perform with The Sugarhill Gang.

Meanwhile, the great and the good took part in the NME Student Music Quiz final at Brixton, taking place as the O2 Presents NME Rock’n’Roll Riot Tour hit the capital.

The Wombats came a respectable third but, we are told, “did by far the best drawings on their answer sheet”.

NME squad were disqualified for not putting their team name on a bit of paper, leaving Kings College to take first prize. You knows the rules, boys…

Later on, The Rifles were “seen brawling” – well, scuffling – with a member of the crowd while watching The Enemy’s set.

Meanwhile, Arctic MonkeysAlex Turner was spotted at a Sony Walkman-staged ‘house party’ bash.

On a similar corporate note, during Girls Aloud‘s intimate gig to launch the new Samsung phone, Big Brother twins Amanda and Samantha were seen pulling along a lost-looking Brian.

Elsewhere, Gok Wan from ’How To Look Good Naked’ fame was seen downing booze, while Danielle Lloyd was seen playing with her “shocking looking extensions”.

Finally, Zane Lowe was seen eating a Curly Wurly on Great Portland Street.
