The track features on the Afro-beat drummer's fifth solo album 'Film Of Life'
Damon Albarn has contributed guest vocals to a new song by Tony Allen.
The Blur frontman and solo artist sings on track called ‘Go Back’, which you can listen to above. The song features on Allen’s forthcoming fifth solo album, ‘Film Of Life’. Allen, who played with Albarn in The Good, The Bad, & The Queen, made his name as the drummer for Fela Kuti‘s band Africa 70. He also worked alongside Albarn in the 2012 project, Rocketjuice and The Moon. ‘Film Of Life’ is set for release in October.
Albarn released his debut solo album ‘Everyday Robots’ in April. He will headline this year’s Latitude Festival – which takes place from July 17-20 – alongside The Black Keys and Two Door Cinema Club.
Earlier this year Albarn said that Blur will definitely perform live again in the future. Albarn dispelled rumours that the band have played their final shows to NME, saying they would be “mad” to never perform together again. “Everything is good between us all. I’m sure we’ll play again at some point,” he said. “It’d be mad to go the rest of our life and never play any of those songs again.”
