The video features a naked couple embracing and kissing
A new video for David Bowie‘s ‘Love Is Lost’ has been unveiled.
Click below to watch the slightly NSFW 10-minute long promo for the James Murphy remix of the song, which was directed by Barnaby Roper. The video, which features a naked couple kissing, premiered on Vice and follows the first video for the track, which cost just £8 to make and featured a pair of puppets from Bowie’s archive, that premiered at the Mercury Prize ceremony at the end of last month. The singer’s ‘The Next Day’ album was nominated for the gong, but lost out to eventual winner James Blake and his ‘Overgrown’ LP.
The first video was shot on a home camera and was described by those close to Bowie as a “strangely moving gothic inflected story line perfect for Halloween”. The only cost incurred in the whole process was the $12.99 (£8.08) needed for a USB stick to download the finished video onto.
Last month four new Bowie songs were premiered online. ‘Atomica’, ‘The Informer’, ‘Like A Rocket Man’ and ‘Born In A UFO’ all feature on the three disc edition of his latest album, ‘The Next Day’. ‘The Next Day Extra’ is out now and includes the original 14-track album, a 10-track CD of bonus songs and a DVD featuring the four videos made for the album: ‘Where Are We Now?’, ‘The Stars (Are Out Tonight)’, ‘The Next Day’ and ‘Valentine’s Day’. The new release also contains the James Murphy remix of ‘Love Is Lost’.
