The producer/DJ was joined by Richard Fearless - and nme.com - at the bash in London...
The maverick Belfast producer/DJ played a selection of tracks from the new record – which features appearances from amongst others Bobby Gillespie, Jon Spencer and Jagz Kooner – as well as his favoured MC5 and some of the ’70s New York garage sounds that have become his trademark.
Holmes told nme.com he was looking forward to the album’s release but last night was concentrating on enjoying himself. “It’s just a night to have a good time, with some cool people and great music,” he said, “It’s just a night to relax.”
Watching Holmes and Fearless – who delighted those assembled by playing some tracks from last year’s breakthrough Death In Vegas album ‘The Contino Sessions’ – was veteran Radio One DJ Annie Nightingale. The veteran broadcaster showed more resolve than many of the people present by remaining at the club right until the event’s close in the very early hours of this morning.
‘Bow Down To The Exit Sign’, the follow up to 1997’s ‘Let’s Get Killed’ is released on Monday (June 12) through Go! Beat Records.
