De La Soul are confirmed to make their first UK live performance in over two years at this year’s NOTTING HILL CARNIVAL.
The rap trio will have their own float at the festival, which will take place in London‘s Notting Hill this forthcoming Bank Holiday Monday (August 28). The band will play a set lasting in the region of three to four hours throughout the day.
A spokesperson for the band’s label Tommy Boy told nme.com: “What we plan to do is to decorate a huge 40-foot rig, which will leave our office at around midday. De La Soul will join it from about 1pm and they will play live, jam, DJ and freestyle for the next three to four hours.
“As far as we are aware, this is the first time a band have had a float at Notting Hill on such a scale.”
De La Soul have just finished a US tour, and hope to play a handful of UK and European live dates before the end of the year. They released their new album, ‘Art Official Intelligence: Mosaic Thump’ on August 7 through Tommy Boy.
