Watch Deftones’ music video for new single ‘Prayers/Triangle’

The track appears on their new album ‘Gore’

Deftones have shared a video for their new single ‘Prayers/Triangle’.

The track appears on the band’s latest album ‘Gore’ which was released last Friday (April 8).

In the video, directed by Charles Bergquist, the American group appear as silhouettes overlaid with trippy visuals. Lead singer Chino Moreno is also filmed running through a residential neighbourhood, followed by a vehicle. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Chino said the song reminded him of running and “perpetual motion”.

Deftones have been open about the issues they faced while making ‘Gore’, chiefly that guitarist Stephen Carpenter was not keen on the direction the band were heading in musically. Speaking to Rolling Stone, the metal-loving musician admitted that ‘Hearts/ Wires’ was one of the songs he found hardest to play on.

“That song made me think of Wild Bill the whole time – psycho killer and shit,” he said. “I just didn’t feel it. I had to embrace my inner psycho rapist and come up with the part and get into it.”

Deftones will play a gig at London’s Wembley Arena in June, a date originally scheduled to take place last year but which was postponed following the Paris attacks in November.

The Wembley gig will take place on June 3. This falls directly before the band appear at this year’s Download Festival.
