Kelly Rowland appears on the soundtrack of a forthcoming Chris Rock film...
DESTINY’S CHILD vocalist KELLY ROWLAND has become the first member of the trio to record a solo track, set to appear on the soundtrack of a forthcoming CHRIS ROCK-starring film.
Kelly, who is also the cousin of the group’s lead singer Beyonce, has contributed the song ‘Angel’ to the soon-to-be-released soundtrack album to ‘Down To Earth’.
The soundtrack also features a slew of contemporary soul and rap talent. Jill Scott, who previously contributed to the ‘Violator’ soundtrack, has recorded brand new track ‘One Time’ for the release, while Philadelphia’s The Roots team up with fellow Philly native and former Groove Theory singer Amel Larrieux on the track ‘Glitches’.
Fans of R&B harmony groups won’t be disappointed as Jagged Edge and Ruff Endz appear, while Lauryn Hill closes the album with her ‘Everything Is Everything’ hit single.
The film, which sees Rock star alongside ‘How Stella Got Her Groove Back’ actress Regina King as a couple who get together after Rock dies and is reincarnated into the body of another man, goes on general release early in February. The soundtrack is released Stateside at the end of January and on import in the UK thereafter.
