Skrillex and Diplo’s 24-hour DJ set shut down by police

Jack Ü duo made it 18 hours into mammoth performance

Diplo has claimed that police shut down his and Skrillex’s attempts to DJ for 24 hours straight.

The pair released their joint Jack Ü album three hours into their attempt, which was live streamed online from a location in Santa Monica. However, as claimed by Diplo on Twitter, authorities ended the marathon effort with six hours left to go.

Three hours into the set, Skrillex announced that an album the pair worked on together was available to download and it promptly arrived on iTunes.

‘Skrillex And Diplo Present Jack Ü’ features guests including Justin Bieber, 2 Chainz and AlunaGeorge as well as the previously heard ‘Jack Ü’ featuring Kiesza and Missy Elliott.

Diplo will release a new Major Lazer album later this year. He recently confirmed that the album will feature Ellie Goulding and Ariana Grande plus Travis Scott, Pusha-T and Gwen Stefani.

Meanwhile, disco producer Giorgio Moroder has announced that he is working with Skrillex on the new Tron video game soundtrack.
