Dizzee Rascal wins Best Dancefloor Filler at Shockwaves NME Awards

Rapper then stagedives into crowd with his award

Dizzee Rascal has won Best Dancefloor Filler at the 2009 Shockwaves NME Awards in London tonight (February 25).

The rapper’s collaboration ‘Dance Wiv Me’, which features Calvin Harris and Chrome, picked up the most votes and saw him collect the prize from Brody Dalle – the former Distillers frontwoman now with Spinnerette – who guest presented.

Accepting the award, Dizzee thanked “everyone who’s supported this shit from the beginning” and bigged up his proteges, Newham Generals, who were on his table.

He then did a dramatic stagedive, award in hand, into the moshpit to huge applause.
