Morgan Yeah? gets 'intimate' with his audience in Manchester
Does It Offend You, Yeah? played a chaotic, alcohol-fuelled set last night (October 21) at Club NME’s In The City showcase gig in Manchester’s Studio venue.
Taking the stage at 23:00 BST, guitarist/keyboardist/singer Morgan Yeah? seemed highly intoxicated, complaining to the crowd that the bar staff at the venue had refused to serve him a triple rum.
He led his band through a high octane set, rushing into the crowd on numerous occasions to the delight of the audience.
During ‘Let’s Make Out’ the singer placed his arm round a blonde female fan’s shoulder and sang the lines “I’m in love with you my baby” into her ear repeatedly, before hugging and rubbing the head of a bald male fan.
Near the end of the song, Yeah? began hugging a crowd member, then noticed the MySpace identity badge round his neck, prompting him to change the song lyrics to the repeated phrase “this guy works for MySpace”.
The musician then invited the crowd to go partying with him, saying: “This lot [his bandmates] are fucking off home after this, but I’m going to go out and get fucked. Who wants to come out and get fucked too?”
Prior to Does It Offend You, Yeah?’s set, which included ‘Doomed Now’ and ‘Battle Royale’ as well as the aforementioned single, Manchester’s Beep Seals and Tired Irie played well-received support slots.
