Drake has invited gold medal-winning Olympic swimmer Penny Oleksiak to one of his upcoming shows.

The Canadian swimmer, who is just 16 years old and like Drake hails from Toronto, won the 100m freestyle event at Rio de Janeiro, and has also collected three other medals during this summer’s games, making her one of its break-out stars.

Sharing a picture of his fellow Ontarian on Instagram, Drake wrote: “OVOPenny aka @typicalpen we are so proud of you!!!! Can’t wait to see you when you are back from Rio at a show!”

Meanwhile, Drake welcomed another sporting champion, NBA player LeBron James on stage last night (August 13).

The basketball star, who recently signed a $100 million contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, was invited on stage to act as hype man during ‘Pop Style’.

“Ohio, if you don’t make some noise for the king right now you’re out of your mind,” Drake said as he introduced the athlete on stage. “Now we gotta do it for old time’s sake.”

James then danced and rapped along to the song with Drake, took to the mic to gee the crowd up even more and then was filmed dancing his way back through the audience afterwards. Watch footage of their performance here.
