Drake has posted a picture on his Instagram showing him meeting and receiving a replica Juventus shirt from the French footballer Paul Pogba.
The Toronto rapper was performing in New York City last night (August 4) as part of his Summer Sixteen tour with his ‘What A Time To Be Alive’ cohort Future, selling out the city’s Madison Square Garden on the first of two nights at the venue.
Backstage after the show, Drake met with the French midfielder, with Pogba gifting the rapper two replica shirts of his current team, Juventus, with his name on the back.
Keen observers of football will note the significance of the gift, given how Pogba is heavily linked by the media to return to his former club, Manchester United, for a world record transfer fee at some point this month.
Both Drake and Pogba marked the meeting with posts on Instagram, which you can see below.
This isn’t the first time that Drake has socialised with a professional footballer. While in the UK last summer for his headline slot at Wireless Festival, the rapper was captured on film at a private house scoring a penalty against ex-Chelsea and current-Montreal Impact forward Didier Drogba.
Drake has also been pictured with Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge in the past.
