Drake teases new collaboration with Lil Baby

They played the anticipated new track at an Atlanta club

Drake appears to be teasing a new collaboration with rapper Lil Baby.

The pair were both spotted in the same Atlanta nightclub, Empire, this weekend (May 6). They were both attending Preme’s album release party. During the event, Lil Baby – who is signed to the label Quality Control – shared a preview of a new song featuring Drake.

A snippet of the new track then made its way online in a now-deleted Instagram story by Quality Control’s CEO Pierre “Pee” Thomas.

Another clip from the event shows Drake jumping up and down and rapping along as the snippet plays. As XXL points out, a verse from the Toronto rapper seems to confirm the collaboration, along with crediting Wheezy (Young Thug, Shad da God) as the track’s producer. “It’s me and Lil Baby, this shit goin’ crazy,” Drake raps, “Wheezy produced it and Weezy done made me,”

Lil Baby later added more fire to the rumours around a Drake collaboration, tweeting: “Imagine Me And Drake Droppin A Song”. Imagine, indeed.

It isn’t clear if the anticipated new track is destined for Drake’s forthcoming ‘Scorpion’ project, or Lil Baby’s ‘Harder Than Ever’ project (out on May 18).

In April Drake confirmed that a mysterious new project called ‘Scorpion’ will arrive in June, after months of teasing . After Drake revealed the details in an Instagram post, fans speculated that ‘Scorpion’ is the title of the rapper’s forthcoming LP.

Drake’s last full length studio album, ‘Views’, came out in 2016. He later followed the release with his  ‘More Life’ playlist a year later, and the ‘Scary Hours’ EP in January of this year.

Last week Drake was reportedly warned over his “bad language”by the NBA after he clashed with Cleveland Cavaliers player Kendrick Perkins at a recent basketball game. He allegedly called Perkins a “fucking pussy” at the play-off between Cleveland Toronto Raptors.
