Best New Band winners perform song from their debut album at O2 Academy Brixton

The two-piece, brothers Eoin and Rory Loveless, were named Best New Band supported by Mossimo at the awards ceremony. They beat off competition from Swim Deep, Chvrches and Jagwar Ma, among others.
Other big winners at this week’s ceremony included Blondie, Damon Albarn and Lily Allen. Performances came from The Horrors and Drenge plus Metronomy, who opened the show by performing ‘Love Letters’, from their forthcoming album of the same name, with MKS. Belle & Sebastian played ‘I Want The World To Stop’ and ‘The Boy With The Arab Strap’.
Arctic Monkeys dominated the NME Awards 2014 with Austin, Texas, however, picking up five awards including Best British Band, Best Live Band and Best Album for ‘AM’.
