Jessie 'The Devil' Hughes even brings his mum along for moral support
Hughes brought some Hollywood sleaze to the Pyramid Stage this afternoon, with Joey Castillo from Queens Of The Stone Age[a] standing in for Josh Homme on drums. The band were still on a high after playing a secret 1am show in the Arcadia field last night.
Despite their hard rocking exterior, the singer admitted that the band were “scared to death” at the prospect of playing before [a]Spinal Tap and Dizzee Rascal.
However the desert rocker had his mum and son watching from the side of the stage to reassure him.
“To make us even more nervous, my mom has flown over to your country to make sure I don’t cuss from the side of the stage,” Hughes told the crowd. “And I’ve got my little boy right behind me. It’s a family affair.”
Hughes spent much of the show flirting and bantering with girls in the front rows, and revealing his pink underwear.
Eagles Of Death Metal played:
‘I Only Want You’
‘Don’t Speak (I Wanna Make A Bang!)’
‘Bad Dream Mama’
‘Anything ‘Cept The Truth’
‘I Want You So Hard (Boy’s Bad News)’
‘Speaking In Tongues’
