Also says third album is 'on its way' and he will be back 'next autumn'
Ed Sheeran has stated that he is taking a break from social media to focus on recording his third album and to “travel the world and see everything I missed”.
The singer, who has 16 million Twitter followers and 5.5 million Instagram followers, broke the news via Instagram, saying that he was “taking a break from my phone, emails and all social media for a while” because he was “seeing the world through a screen and not my eyes”.
Sheeran wrote “I’m taking a break from my phone, emails and all social media for a while. I’ve had such an amazing ride over the last five years but I find myself seeing the world through a screen and not my eyes so I’m taking this opportunity of me not having to be anywhere or do anything to travel the world and see everything I missed.”
Sheeran also said that his upcoming third album is “on its way”, is the “best thing” he’s recorded and that he will be back “next autumn”
“The third album is on its way and is the best thing I have made thus far. See you all next autumn, and thank you for being amazing,” he wrote.
