Singer says he's lost 20 kilograms and he rarely parties after gigs

Ed Sheeran has said he has lost 20 kilograms after quitting beer and pizza.

The singer claims he has cut down on his bad habits on tour.

He told Australia radio station KIIS FM: “I’m watching what I eat and I’m staying inside.

“I used to be like nine stone (around 57 kilograms), and then I was like 15 stone (approximately 95 kilograms) and now I’m 11 stone (69.85 kilograms).

“The main thing I cut out was eating after shows. I’d get off stage and eat a pizza. Now I eat before a show, play, go to bed.”

Sheeran recently made a surprise appearance at an Australian couples’ wedding reception, performing the song ‘Thinking Out Loud’ for their first dance as a married pair.

The singer is currently touring Australia and recently took time out from playing gigs to film a cameo appearance in long-running Australian soap opera Home and Away.

“I got asked to do [Home and Away] and it sounded like it could be fun. I did Shortland Street in New Zealand as well and I’m sure if Emmerdale or EastEnders ever ask me in England I would do that as well.

He continued: “I have got to a point where I really, really don’t care what people think so I’m doing stuff because I enjoy it now rather than because it might be cool. I am just in it for fun.”
