A video has emerged of footballer Wayne Rooney singing with Ed Sheeran.
The two performed the impromptu version of Sheeran’s ‘Lego House’ in a Manchester pub. According to The Daily Mail, it took place in the Sir Ralph Abercrombie pub near Deansgate after one of the singer’s two sold-out shows at the city’s Phones 4u Arena. Rooney and fellow Manchester United star Robin Van Persie reportedly attended Sheeran’s concert on October 28.

Pub landlord Mike Christodoulou told The Sun: “Ed pulled out his guitar and him and Wayne had a little sing song — it was good vibes all round.”
Recently, a Premier League referee was punished for breaching FA regulations in order to attend an Ed Sheeran gig in Newcastle. It was reported that Mark Clattenburg travelled alone to officiate a West Bromwich Albion v Crystal Palace game on October 25 so he could get back to Newcastle in time to watch Ed Sheeran performing at the city’s Metro Radio Arena. FA rules dictate that referees must travel to and from games with their assistants.
Meanwhile, it was reported last month that Ed Sheeran’s ‘X’ is the top-selling artist album of 2014 so far. The singer’s second LP heads a list of the Top 40 biggest selling albums of the year (excluding compilations) compiled by the Official Charts Company. ‘X’ was released in June and has been certified double platinum by the BPI.
