Ed Sheeran to write this year’s ‘X Factor’ winner single?

Ed Sheeran is being tipped to write the single for this year’s X Factor winner.

Sources have told The Sun that Simon Cowell has roped in the talents of the multi-million-selling ‘Thinking Out Loud’ singer-songwriter to secure the X Factor winner a place at the top of the charts – after last year’s victor Louisa Johnson’s cover of Bob Dylan’s ‘Forever Young’ landed only at No.9.

“Everything Ed does turns to gold,” said the source. “To have him write the winner’s song is huge and amazing news for this year’s winner.

“All the remaining contestants have heard the track and it works for the majority. They can’t believe potentially their first ever single will be written by Ed.”

They added: “The only chance his song won’t get used is if 5Am or HONEY G pull off a shock win. Then bosses might need to consider another one of their options.”

Honey G has come under fire throughout the show. While some claimed she was an actor  and accused her of ‘raping black culture, Professor Green slammed her for ‘taking the mickey out of rap’ and Lily Allen said she was ‘offensive‘.

Earlier this month, betting was suspended on Ed Sheeran headlining Glastonbury 2017.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “It looks like Ed’s cameo in the latest Bridget Jones film was the clue all along. Punters have piled into his odds at a rate of knots and we’re left with no option but to close the betting for the time being.”

The other rumoured headline act for Glastonbury 2017 is currently Foo Fighters, having announced other huge European festival headline slots that weekjoining the previously announced Radiohead.
