The film will focus on the making of the quintet's fourth studio album 'The Weight Of Your Love'
Editors will release a candid new documentary online today (June 22) following the band throughout the recording of their forthcoming album ‘The Weight Of Your Love’ – set for release on July 1.
The documentary will be available to stream on the band’s Youtube channel from 2pm this afternoon.
Featuring interviews with all the band members and producer Jacquire King, the film will show the Birmingham five-piece recording and playing in Nashville, where they recorded ‘The Weight Of Your Love’ at Blackbird Studios, and will also see the remaining members discuss the departure of founder member Chris Urbanowicz – who quit the band last year.
On top of screening the documentary, Editors will also be streaming two new offerings online on Monday. At 8pm the band’s Youtube channel will host a live stream of their set at Berlin’s Postbahnhof venue, whilst at 9.30pm the band will stream the entirety of ‘The Weight Of Your Love’ in conjunction with iTunes at http://itunes.com/editors.
Recently, the band unveiled new track ‘A Ton of Love’, which is the first track to be debuted since 2009 LP ‘In This Light And On This Evening’. Speaking about the new material, frontman Tom Smith described it as “having a foot in that alt rock / Americana world” and “feeling untouchable at times”. He also added that the lyrics were mainly “love songs…that don’t adhere to the traditional love song type.”
Editors are set to play at Glastonbury next weekend before heading to London for a one-off show at Village Underground on July 1.
