However the star is “relaxed” about his condition…
EDWYN COLLINS has suffered a setback in his recovery from a brain haemorrhage, but is said to be “relaxed” about his immediate future.
Collins was due to move from London’s Royal Free Hospital to a rehabilitation unit this week to continue his recovery from the haemorrhage he suffered on February 20.
However writing on [url=] edwyncollins.com on April 12, his wife Grace Maxwell explained the former Orange Juice man now needed an operation to deal with an infection that resulted from previous surgery to replace a bone in his cranium.
“Edwyn’s infection has become problematical enough for his surgeons to decide to remove the newly replaced boneflap altogether,” Maxwell wrote. “So surgery tomorrow morning (April 13). This should be straightforward but I wouldn’t mind you sending him your positive vibrations or whatever it is you’ve been doing so far just to help him on the way. It also means that at some point in the future (maybe six months) Edwyn will have a lovely titanium custom made plate.”
However, Maxwell insisted Collins is optimistic about his recovery.
“Anyway, we’ll get this bit of setback out the way and get on with it,” she added. “When asked to describe how he felt about this additional surgery his answer was ‘relaxed.’ What a man.”
