Edwyn Collins joins forces with The Cribs, The Drums and Franz Ferdinand for new record

The former Orange Juice frontman also lines up a show in London

Edwyn Collins has announced plans to release a star-studded solo album.

The singer has roped in The CribsRyan Jarman and Johnny Marr, Franz Ferdinand‘s Alex Kapranos and Nick McCarthy, The Magic Numbers singer Romeo Stodart, The Drums and Aztec Camera singer Roddy Frame for ‘Losing Sleep’.

The 12-track album, which is released on September 13, is Collins‘s first written and recorded LP since his serious illness in 2005.

It was recorded at his own West Heath Studios between November 2008 and May 2010 and produced by the former Orange Juice frontman and Sebastian Lewsley.

The singer has also announced a trio of concerts later this year. He will play:

End Of The Road Festival (September 10)
London Queen Elizabeth Hall (23)
