The song was penned for new Simon Pegg film 'Man Up'
Elbow have unveiled a new track, titled ‘What Time Do You Call This?’.
The song was recorded especially for new Simon Pegg film Man Up, which opens in cinemas from May 29. The soundtrack – which also features The National, Jungle, Paloma Faith, Duran Duran and more – will be released on May 25.
‘What Time Do You Call This?’ is the first piece of new music from the band in over a year, since the release of 2014 album ‘The Take Off and Landing of Everything’. Listen below.
Elbow headline Kendal Calling on August 1 and On Blackheath on September 12, while singer Guy Garvey is also working on his debut solo album, which is due out in the autumn.
Garvey recently launched a new record label called Snug Platters. All the releases on the imprint will be pressed on 10″ vinyl and limited to 1,000 copies. The first release, out on May 18, will be Manchester singer Steve’s debut EP ‘Danger! High Failure Rate’.
Snug Platters is Garvey’s second record label, following Skinny Dog, which he began with I Am Kloot bassist Peter Jobson in the early part of the 2000s. It released records by Cranebuilders, Peter And The Wolf and actor John Simm’s band Magic Alex.
