'Halcyon' singer eyes up full-length collaboration with her dubstep beau
The singer released her second LP, ‘Halcyon’, last week (October 8) and has repeatedly insisted that it has not been influenced by the EDM star, who she started dating in February of this year.
In August, it was reported that the pair had shelved a collaboration they recorded for the album but, in an interview with The AP, she said:
I think in an ideal world we’d love to make a whole record together… but it just so happens that we’re both ridiculously busy. When it comes to music, it honestly is really professional. Honestly.
She went on to discuss the difference between their personal and professional relationships, adding: “If we start talking about music on the phone, it switches immediately to being professional, and not on purpose, but because we’re both so passionate about music and it’s a very serious thing to us.”
‘Halcyon’ contains a total of 10 tracks, including the singer’s recent single ‘Anything Could Happen’ and ‘Hanging On’, her duet with Tinie Tempah, which was made available as a free download earlier this year, and ‘I Need Your Love’, Goulding’s collaboration with Calvin Harris.
In support of the new album, the follow-up to 2010’s hugely successful debut album ‘Lights’, the singer will play nine shows at the tail end of 2012.
Ellie Goulding will play:
O2 Academy Bristol (December 7)

O2 Brixton Academy (12)
O2 Academy Glasgow (13)
O2 Academy Leeds (15)
