Singer's second album will be released in early October
Ellie Goulding has announced that her much-anticipated second album will be titled ‘Halcyon’ and that it will be released in October.
The album, which is the follow-up to Goulding’s 2010 debut ‘Lights’, will be released on October 8 and will be preceded by a single, ‘Anything Could Happen’, on September 30.
Goulding previewed the album earlier this month with the release of a cover of Active Child’s ‘Hanging On’, which featured a guest appearance from Tinie Tempah. You can hear the track at the bottom of the page. The song is also available to download by clicking here.
The singer has also acted as co-producer on ‘Halcyon’, which has been recorded in her hometown in the Hay Valley with producer Jim Elliot (Kylie Minogue/Ladyhawke).
It was recently revealed that Goulding and boyfriend Skrillex were recording with Swedish House Mafia, reportedly for the new album. Sebastian Ingrosso of Swedish House Mafia spoke about the demo the three acts made together, saying the session was “no pressure, just fun”.
Ingrosso said of the session, which was arranged by the Interscope record label, “Ellie and Skrillex came in 30 minutes late, and we had already started with a melody. Skrillex freaked out, he loved it, and after a few hours we wrote the song.”
