Singer pleads ignorance and insists “I don’t even know what a vajazzle is”

Forget Glastonbury – this is the really important music news of the weekend. While everyone’s been distracted at events at Worthy Farm, singer Ellie Goulding has moved to deny claims that she’s been vajazzled.

It was reported earlier today that Goulding – who was crowned as Prince William and Kate Middleton’s favourite pop star when she performed at their wedding reception earlier this year – had been decorated with the jewellery item popularised by reality TV show The Only Way Is Essex.

According to The Daily Telegraph, a source who spotted the star in a nightclub at the Tuatara nightclub in the King’s Road, Chelsea, London said: “She was discreetly showing it off to her friends in the ladies’ loos.”

However, Goulding has since taken to Twitter to insist that she is vajazzle free, writing: “Read an article saying i got a “vajazzle” I don’t even know what a “vajazzle” is. Would someone like to enlighten me???”

Kimberly Davis – a contestant on the fifth series of UK reality show The Apprentice – responded by telling Goulding that it had also been reported that she’d been flashing her new body jewellery in a ladies loo. The singer replied by simply posting: “Unbelievable!”

Goulding became a red top fixture earlier this year when she reportedly played a mixture of her own material and covers of tunes by The Killers, Stevie Wonder at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Royal Wedding reception in April, for a crowd including Prince Charles, Camilla and Prince Harry.
