Singer will reportedly star in 'The Secret Service' alongside Colin Firth, Mark Hamill and Michael Caine
Sir Elton John is reportedly in line to make a cameo appearance in a new movie which will see him film a huge fight scene.
Hollywood actors Colin Firth and Michael Caine will star in The Secret Service, a film directed by Matthew Vaughn, next year and the director is reportedly lining up a number of big name cameo appearances in order to boost the films hopes at the box office. One of the prospective guest stars is singer-songwriter Sir Elton, whom the team behind the film reportedly want to have involved in a violent part of the story.
“The Secret Service is going to be a big British movie so Matthew wants to include some iconic British stars,” a source told The Sun about the film, which is an adaptation of Kick Ass author Mark Millar’s comic book of the same name. “He wants to turn the films into a franchise, so getting big names on board will help boost its profile. Seeing Elton fighting will be movie gold. He’s a great addition.”
It is reported that joining Elton on the list of guest stars will be Star Wars actor Mark Hamill as well as director Ridley Scott.
Earlier this month it was revealed that Elton John will receive the first ever Brits Icon Award. The new accolade will be celebrated at a separate event each year. A spokesperson for the Brits told NME that the award will not replace the Outstanding Contribution Award, which continue to be presented at each year’s Brits on an ad-hoc basis.
Earlier this month, Elton John was forced to pull all his summer tour dates, including a massive concert in London’s Hyde Park, after being diagnosed with appendicitis.
