Other bands performing include Nine Inch Nails and Foals.
Eminem will return to Leeds for the first time since 2001, as he headlines the Main Stage. The Detroit rapper will bring a set of greatest hits as well as new track ‘Survival’ to the festival. Eminem performed at Reading last night (August 24), opening with new track ‘Survival’.
Meanwhile, Biffy Clyro will follow their opening night slot at Leeds Festival by headlining the Reading leg. At Leeds, they fought off the driving rain with a well-received performance packed with pyrotechnics.
Elsewhere at Reading there will be Main Stage performances from Nine Inch Nails, Fall Out Boy and The Lumineers. Speaking about his band’s new live show, Nine Inch Nail’s Trent Reznor recently said: “In terms of physical components, it’s actually low-tech. It’s either going to be the best thing ever or a spectacular disaster.”
Other artists appearing across the Reading site include Editors, Phoenix, Azealia Banks, Disclosure, Haim, Tribes, Knife Party, Spector, Merchandise, Wretch 32, Angel Haze and ‘Harlem Shake’ star Baauer.
Meanwhile, at Leeds, there will be performances from Foals, Chase & Status, White Lies, Earl Sweatshirt and Tyler, The Creator on the Main Stage. Reading and Leeds promoter Melvin Benn recently tipped Foals as a future headliner for the festival, saying: ” Foals for me are the most in touch guitar band in the world and I don’t think anybody’s matching them. To see them own the stage and the reaction they get is unbelievable. A match for Rage Against The Machine in terms of moshing and intensity.”
Other artists appearing across the Leeds site today include Alt-J, who headline the NME/ Radio One Stage, Jake Bugg, Tame Impala, Johnny Marr, Palma Violets, Magnetic Man, Jagwar Ma, Savages, DIIV, Swim Deep, Drenge and Chance The Rapper.
