Slim Shady also sat down with Zane Lowe as the host's first Beats 1 radio guest
Eminem appeared on ‘Only in Monroe’, a monthly public access TV show that broadcasts in Monroe, Michigan and usually tackles local issues.
The show was guest-presented by Stephen Colbert, who will soon begin his new job as David Letterman’s ‘Late Show’ replacement. The former ‘Colbert Report’ host takes over from previous incumbent Letterman on September 8.
During Colbert’s interview with Eminem, streaming below via Youtube, the host asks the Detroit rapper to sing Bob Seger songs. He also describes Slim Shady as “a local Michigander who is making a name for himself in the competitive world of music”.
As well as the Coblert interview, Eminem also sat down with Zane Lowe as the host’s first Beats 1 radio guest. The pair discussed Eminem’s love of boxing, the hip-hop star’s acting career and an upcoming music video.
Eminem recently unveiled a new song called ‘Phenomenal’, which is taken from the soundtrack to new boxing film Southpaw. The song was produced by DJ Khalil.
Eminem was originally set to star in the aforementioned film when it was announced in December 2010, but later postponed the project and eventually dropped out entirely. He was replaced by Jake Gyllenhaal.
Eminem released his latest album ‘The Marshall Mathers LP 2’ in 2013.
