The track is believed to have been recorded between 1988 and 1991
A recording of what is believed to be a 16-year-old Eminem rapping has surfaced online – listen to it above.
The track, which was posted on YouTube, is believed to have been recorded between 1988 and 1991. It features Eminem rapping on a song titled ‘Pooh Butt Daily,’ with his early collaborator Chaos Kid, who at the time performed under the name Soul Intent.
The recording follows the emergence last week (July 18) of footage of a 19-year-old Kanye West performing in a record shop.
The performance, at the now-closed Fat Beats record shop in New York in 1996, took place five years before the rapper’s big break producing Jay Z’s 2001 single ‘Izzo (HOVA)’ and eight before he released his debut LP ‘The College Dropout’.
Eminem has been nominated for seven MTV Video Music Awards at this year’s ceremony, set to air from California on August 24. The rapper is among the acts confirmed to be performing at the event next month, where he will take to the stage to perform his two-time nominated track ‘The Monster’ with Rihanna for the first time, ahead of embarking on their joint US tour.
