Eminem’s sister-in-law dies following reported heroin overdose

Dawn Scott, 40, was found in her trailer park home on Tuesday (January 19)

Eminem‘s estranged sister-in-law has passed away from a suspected drug overdose, reports claim.

Radar Online reports that Dawn Scott, 40, was found in her trailer park home on Tuesday (January 19). Scott is the twin sister of Eminem’s ex-wife Kim and the mother of his adoptive daughter Alaina.

Police in Warren, Michigan confirmed the news to Radar Online and reportedly stated the cause of death as “an apparent heroin overdose, pending a toxicology test”.

The rapper (real name Marshall Mathers) had been estranged from Scott in recent times.

In August, Scott told Radar Online: “One night I called my sister [Mathers’ ex-wife Kim] and told her I had nowhere to go. She said, ‘That’s not my problem. Don’t bother me’ and hung up”.

“I have a millionaire brother-in-law and a sister with money up the ass, but they’re refusing to give me any help,” Scott added.

NME has approached Eminem’s press representatives for a comment on the news.

Meanwhile, Eminem is reportedly set to invest in lyric and annotation service Genius.
