Enter Shikari share video for new song ‘Anaesthetist’ – watch

Rou Reynolds says the track is an attack on those that want to dismantle the NHS

Enter Shikari have shared the video for their new song ‘Anaesthetist’.

Click above to watch the video for the latest track to come from the band’s new album ‘The Mindsweep’. The song was debuted live last summer at Reading and Leeds Festivals and is an attack on what the band see as the Conservative Party’s dismantling of the free healthcare provided in the UK by the NHS.

Speaking about the track, frontman Rou Reynolds comments: “We seem to have reached a stage of such capitalistic fervour, that we believe it acceptable to punish people for ill health. By charging for healthcare we act as if illness is nothing but one’s own problem, but what is the purpose and advantage of ‘civilisation’ if it is not helping the most vulnerable within society? The lottery of birth can offer us a wealth of bad luck when it comes to our health and the safety nets are being pulled in as the desire to boost profit overtakes the desire to help people.”
