Composer says his past is a strong presence in his new musical score
Eurythmics mainman Dave Stewart has admitted that his musical past is definitely present on the score he has composed for the new musical version of Ghost.
Stewart has penned the score for the new stage version of the successful 1990 Hollywood film, which originally starred Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore. The show’s West End run, which is now underway, is scheduled to play until January 28 2012 at London‘s Piccadilly Theatre.
Writing in the Independent today (July 18), Stewart says: “Does it sound like any of my other work? There are definitely sections where you can hear that I have tipped my hat to my musical past. You can hear Eurythmics-style electronica mixed in with real string players.”
The project will release their as yet untitled debut album on September 20, with a single, ‘Miracle Worker’, set to come out before this date.
