The track, which is titled ‘The Other Side’, is due to appear on their forthcoming self-titled third album, which is due out on October 11.
Speaking to MTV News, frontwoman Amy Lee said of the track: “I wrote it with the guys. It was a real collaborative effort. That was a hard one for me to write the lyrics for, because I had the chorus, which is very epic and dramatic; but the verses have that element of fun, so I’m like: ‘How do I sing about death in a way that’s sort of bitchy?'”
The band have been working with Foo Fighters producer Nick Raskulinecz on the album, which is the follow-up to 2006’s ‘The Open Door’. Drummer Will Hunt has previously said they are taking “some really big risks” with their third studio LP.
The band have yet to indicate what their touring schedule will be after the album is released.
