Fatboy Slim (NORMAN COOK) became the toast of HOLLYWOOD last night (March 7), amassing a flock of celebrity well-wishers, including CHER, at his record release party for LIVE ON BRIGHTON BEACH.
Stars who turned out to celebrate with the recent Grammy winner included actor James Woods, Rose McGowan, Lukas Haas, Alyssa Milano and Cher.
Turning a corner on the hotel’s second floor, Fatboy Slim bumped into the icon as she was being interviewed for television. Slightly dumbstruck, he shook hands with Cher, who announced she was a fan.
Ministry of Sound, who are releasing Fatboy Slim‘s new mix album on April 30 in the US, sponsored the exclusive event which featured magicians, a fondue room, tarot reading and a massage parlour.
Fatboy Slim begins his US club tour tonight (Friday March 8) in San Francisco.
In related news, it has been announced that Paul Oakenfold will not now be touring the Far East with Fatboy Slim during this summer’s World Cup. As previously revealed on NME.COM, the pair had hoped to play venues in Japan to coincide with England’s first round of games. Now, Stanton Warriors will join Fatboy Slim on the dates, and the touring party are looking for one other big name.
