KAISER CHIEFS SET FOR GLASTONBURY DEBUT

The band arrive early to enjoy the weekend…

The KAISER CHIEFS have let NME.COM in on their preparations for their PYRAMID STAGE performance tomorrow (June 25).

The band deliberately arrived on site early to make the most of their weekend, and have been getting out amongst the mud and other festival goers today (June 24).

”I’ve just been walking round, I’m really enjoying myself,” singer Ricky Wilson explained, however he added there’s an area of the site he’s avoiding until tomorrow at 3pm.

”The one thing I haven’t done is see the Pyramid Stage yet,” explained Wilson. “I’d like to see The Killers tonight but I don’t want to see the stage until I walk on it. If I see a band on it, that’s when I get nervous, and start throwing-up for half an hour before the gig. So I’m just trying to empty my head of it and just hope someone pushes me on at 2.55 tomorrow.”

Wilson added that the Chiefs have been thinking about their set for tomorrow, but have assured fans they’ll get to hear all their favourites.

”We were going to play a new song – which we’re recording when we get back from Glastonbury – but I didn’t finish the lyrics, so that’s off the cards,” admitted Wilson. “But we’re playing all the hits, all the poppy ones. It’s Glastonbury isn’t it? When you go and see The Rolling Stones they don’t play the new ones do they? So we kept it straightforward.”
