"If he turned up and he was the Peter I know and love then of course, that’d be natural"...
CARL BARAT has said an onstage reunion with PETE DOHERTY onstage at CARLING WEEKEND: READING is unlikely.
Speaking with NME.COM backstage at the festival (August 28), Barat said that if Pete had cleaned himself up enough to perform, he’d welcome him, but thought it wouldn’t be possible.
The guitarist is out of the group while he battles his addiction to drugs.
He said: “Obviously it’s something I’ve thought about. I keep a very close eye on what’s going on, but I hope things will be getting back to the good old ways soon.
“It’s pretty unlikely really (Pete playing at Reading). Not if he’s not doing too well like I heard…if he turned up and he was the Peter I know and love then of course, that’d be natural. It’s a bit of a fucking tricky one really.”
Speculation about a reunion started last night when Pete arrived in Reading, performing a gig with Babyshambles at the Fez Club.
