NOT ‘GUILTY’

Big crowds for the Finnish champions...

THE RASMUS brought the rock day at the CARLING WEEKEND LEEDS festival to a dazzling start today (August 27), drawing the first big crowd of the weekend.

Following Minus and Thrice, the Finnish eurorock posterboys charged through their chart smashes ‘In The Shadows’ and ‘Guilty’ in their first UK festival since breaking through. Later, they caught up with fans at the NME Signing Tent.

Singer Lauri told NME.COM how today’s show was personally significant: “I’ve been here myself before a couple of years ago, so it’s a big thing for me to get on the Main Stage. It was the year Axl Rose (Guns N’ Roses) was playing.”

The band are now planning to wreak havoc later on with one of the most notorious party bands around. “I think that anything could happen tonight. We met Minus, from Iceland, so we’re gonna have a bit of a party with them.”
